We are a friendly club with a good mix of ages and a growing number of lady members, we have been running nearly 30 years (The exact date is currently lost in the mists of time)
The club welcomes all visitors whether from other clubs or just those who are interested or wanting to find out more about woodturning to come along to our monthly meetings.
We have regular demonstrations from professional woodturners and talented amateurs from our own club. We also have regular hands on nights where you can try your hand at something new with an experienced turner at your side.
What is Woodturning.
There are those that would say Woodturning is the art or craft of forming objects from a rough piece of wood into something beautiful using a lathe and various woodturning tools.
There are others who would describe it as a way of turning expensive pieces of beautiful wood into piles of shavings.
However you want to describe it, few would argue that it’s a hobby that provides a huge amount of enjoyment.
